Lately, I've spent a little time following this thread which discusses Gate/Trigger amplifiers:

While prototyping my own Gate/Trigger comparators I noted that I could fire a trigger at a different point along a ramped input by changing the input bias. This has inspired an idea. Idea

The idea is for an analog clock multiplier (as opposed to a clock divider).

Consider a rising sawtooth wave input. I can split the input to multiple op amp comparators -- the bias of each controlled from the front panel. Each comparator would output a trigger at a precise point along the sawtooth wave. In fact, would even be possible to provide a voltage-in to control the bias (and thus that trigger point) with control voltage.

Thus, from a single LFO signal, one could produce equal or unequal divisions of each cycle.

This also opens up sonic possibilities, too -- since op amp comparators will work at audio frequencies.

Along with my other building activities, I'll prototype this and use this thread to "think out loud" and to share my progress on this.

Note: I also have a design in mind for a voltage-controlled quad panner wherein a single control voltage controls the position of the sound on the surround-sound perimeter. I think this work will lead to such a module.

Sounds similar to a window comparator where the earlier stage stays high even after the signal has left the window range. You could probably make your module function either way and get some extra functionality/option.
