Hi!

I've been wanting to record on my DAT machine with a MICROPHONE.

For some reason, the only inputs are RCA-type, which, as you know, are only for cassette, cd, etc, input -- not for mikes.

Is there any way i can match the impedence, so that i CAN record using a mike?????????

Thank you,

Norm Question Question Question

There is slightly more to this than just a device that matches the impendance. What you really need is a microphone preamp. You could also use a mixer with built in preamps and send a line signal to the DAT.

If you find that you need a preamp... then perhaps you might cionsider how such a unit can fit several tasks. Some come with line inputs too, some have built in compressors and limiters and tube stages. If this is not a portable DAT recorder, then I guess you might for a mains powered rack unit.

This one is pretty decent: http://www.humbuckermusic.com/fmraudrnreal.html
It is very basic with a pretty good sound.

This this one is almost decent at a nice price: http://www.behringer.com/MIC2200/index.cfm?lang=ENG

This one is pretty fun..

but perhaps not what you had in mind. -And I am not sure how this one fits that DAT recorder. You should first check out how good the DAT unit is and if it is worth the effort.
