Ppl. I just dug out, my box of tubes from the back of my junk pile.
I've never made anything with tubes, but I really love the orange glow! I WANT IT! I NEED IT! I'm thinking pre-amp or something..

I do realize the "Don't design around what you got" speech.. But really most of the stuff I got is the junkbox kind..

Tubes I got ;

2 x MiniWatt Ecc81
MiniWatt 85A2
Valvo EBC81

Hmm, just noticed the writing on the rest is gone.. 11 tubes Sad Altho I can se 2 of them are single triodes..

Do you have any suggestions ? Since, the supply is very limited it's going to be single stage and it sounds like shit but I NEED GLOW..

why not use the ECC81 dual triodes for a 'crushed glass' dual tube oscillator. they sound incredible. The thread is on this diy forum.

The 85a2 is not much use to you, unless you are using a >100V PSU.

you should be able to realise a simple pre-amp with the ebc81.....there is a simple cct on page 2 of this datasheet

it is for 250V supply, but see how you go on low voltage Smile
