While I had the hood off to change the battery, I figured I'd take peek at the PCB. I also discovered that the Waldorf Microwave will refuse to receive MIDI (the MIDI light doesn't even come on) if it's set to a "corrupted" patch, i.e. what all the patches are apparently set to after you run the service memory check routines.
