or Gold Artist Service after November 2, 2003 will receive a
full refund of any fees paid.
If you subscribe to any other MP3.com services, you will receive
separate email messages with specific information about refunds
and service availability.
Participants in the truSONIC Business Music Service program
will be receiving an email update about the process for their
continued participation in that program.

It will be like the Death Star and Alderan. Evacuate your village, don't give them the pleasure.

| This will undoubtedly be the largest destruction of creative information in a single day in human history. CNET joins the ranks of megacorps that pursue only $$$ and care nothing about art or the destruction of humanity that results from their actions. |

Wow, sorta like the burning of the Library at Alexandria.
Why don't you write an editorial. We can put it on the front page. Maybe I can figure a way to make a black drape for the masthead. |

Or the burning of Dresden and Tokyo.. Great idea! This is an event which has tweakability. |

I'm sure that if we measured it in bits of information, there's much more at mp3.com than there was in the library at Alexandria!
However, that ancient event was obviously a huge loss to the development of human endeavor and civilization.
Anyway I think the analogy is a valid one. |

The saddest thing for me will be the loss of those late night "digs" into mp3.com, hunting and searching hours on end for cool music. If I ran across someone with triple-digit listens, I may listen, double digit and I absolutely listened.
Single digit and I would call friends over to watch me listen.
I dont think I ever listened to anyone with 5-digits or higher. Ever. I'll admit to a quad or 2, maybe.
I'll miss that. I doubt IUMA is so robust with regards to available music. Oh vell, ze beat goez on...

Yes, in some respects MP3.com was a goldmine of esoteric and nice stuff. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

MP3.com did change the look and feel of the place in order to hopefully earn a few bucks in order to pay the bills. I cannot blame the Vivendi dudes for doing that. i havent checked out IUMA yet. Will do.. soon.BTW: I saw they had this "no uploads today notice" _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

Absolutely. Thank Poseidon I collected alot of the music I liked from there. I had amassed a few hundred songs, I think. Alot of great stuff. My MP3 account went live on January 27th of '03 if I recall, and when I gutted it, I had a grand total of 224 listens.

I did the same: I extracted all the essential passages and portions of myself from mp3.com, doing so I deprived it of my vital content and force: I disemboweled it

Awesome. I wouldn't give them the pleasure of the couple of nanoseconds it would take to wipe my presence off of there. That's MINE

Funny are we?
Do you have yet another track ready? Soon?
I suggest we go kill another thread now. Someone put up a "james last revival" notice over in the schmooze department. See you there? _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"
