Hey all,
I was searching through some stuff the other day and found an unmarked cardboard box, opened it up and found a pristine Spartan 3e EVB. I had bought it because I bid on a job that might require one and I needed to learn verilog, but if I recall we ended up using some other solution. It's been awhile. Anyway, I remembered that the late Scott Gravenhorst had done some very neat synth work with these (there's a little DAC pcb in the box, too, not sure who did that) and I thought it would be fun to resurrect it, but when I went looking the fpga.synth.net site was gone. Is this archived anyplace? The Wayback machine did not capture the zip files with the code.

Thanks.

No idea about this, but according to our work in here, i can say that the SPARTAN 3 is a totally outdated device. We go with Version 7 in the meanwhile.

Wayback machine FTW

https://web.archive.org/web/20210210215852/http://fpga.synth.net/

Might be some other timestamps more recent, but the last one in May of 2022 was not usable.

I was checking it out because someone on FB had linked to this
https://shop.eimtechnology.com/products/step-fpga-development-board

And I vaguely remembered Scott's project as well, which brought me here and your pointer at fpga.synth.net.

Anybody knows why this disappeared?

I remember this site too - was yellow text on black and having much inspiration.

Scott passed away a few years ago. I have been keeping his site running on the new domain that he moved it to:

http://scott.joviansynth.com/index.html

The FPGA stuff is here:
