Microwave XT (before i buy)

I'm planning to buy this synth. does anybody have experience using it?
i've read on a site that some parameter (osc 1 semitone...) will click when you edit them. is it still the case when the parameter is modulated?

I own an XT. I haven't noticed the clicking, but I'll be using it Friday and check on it for you. I absolutely love the XT. What a unique instrument! And it's great for performance, because most of the parameters have dedicated knobs for tweeking on the fly. Since Waldorf has been hibernating, I have noticed the used XT prices are starting to creep up. It has a very aggresive tone, but it can be used for its soft ambient pads as well. I doubt you would be disappointed if you bought one at a decent price.

the manual convinced me. sounds like a very flexible synth. i'm gonna try it tommorow but i'm afraid i'm not going to be able to test it properly in the music store. the micro q is an option too.

The micro Q is very nice. I have its big brother, the Q rack. The Q is probably my favorite hardware synth in my arsenal. But the XT is fantastic too. There are tons of Micro Qs out there, but fewer XTs (probably because of the price differences.) The Micro Q's interface is not as hands-on as the XT. I would recommend getting both. They complement each other very well.

I don't have Cubase. But I do use Sonar, and I don't notice any latency.

Cubase has some "latency" settings... at least on the mac. You checked in those? As far as I know the XT is not known to be "late" Very Happy

i bought the xt...now i have to reload the factory preset. i have the file from waldorf. do i simply load the file in cubase and press play...sounds to simple.
in list edit i see (F0,3E,0E,00,10,) Shocked

Make sure Cubase' bpm is set kind of low. If Cubase won't run the midi file use Midiox. It has always worked for me. Couldn't get Sonar to send the file.

Hi! IMHO, DEFINITELY buy an XT if you can afford one! (I'm sorry i sold mine).

This synth makes sounds like no other! If you like non-trad sounds, and "something completely different", THIS is the synth to buy!
