Each one includes the 3 mod's listed on Scott's site. So everybody pray with me that my MFOS order will arrive tomorrow.
The panel is 2 SN Voice's, Yusynths Dual Pulse Delay and MFOS Stereo Auto Panner / Leslie Simulator.
Beneath is my Dual Late MS20 VCF's. |
Nicely done !! Wow, lots of stuff packed into this unit

I will try and bang out a FULL tune on the next go around with the SN Voice!. I tell you, I really love this unit in the roll of bassline generator!
Like you said Scott in one of our PM's, even if only 3 octaves of accurate 1V/Oct tracking were achieved, it would have been good enough since it does bass so well.

hey synthmonger what are you using to get your keyboard to run the SN. is it your own board for CV or what?
very cool btw. i just got in an order for a board with State Machine and attaching some keys would be nice.

I'm using a Ray Wilson single bus keyboard. Though I'm having problems with it right now and cannot figure out whats up
FYI he told me he'll be coming out some boards for sale in a few weeks. What a great guy ;D
P.S. Hold off on anything you're doing and build that SN-Voice! It's too much fun to play with it's almost scary |

thanks synthmonger, i don't know how i missed that. i spend a fair amount of time reading over on Mr. Wilson's site. i think i have everything but the LT1112 sitting right here. i'm definitely going to have to grab one of those boards and salvage some keys off of something.
thanks v-un-v!
i wasn't expecting that Mr. Machine, thanks! so is that you that grabbed the reaktor design? oh and if there is ever anything anyone wants to see printed up just let me know.

I heared Uncle Krunkus had good results with a TL072. You can at least built it and swap out dual op-amps and see which ones work best ;D |

would anyone be willing to help me design a frac-rack/bananafied front panel for the sn-voice?
i'm not quite sure where to start.
front panel design seems like a good choice, but i'm not sure how to build the dimension and everything for frac.
anyone interested?
or i may just buy a 19 inch blank panel, and drill some holes, then tape paper on front.

well if you take a look at sneakthief's again. on the left from mixer to env is one SN all laid out for you already. i would guess at that being about 3 spaces? maybe? kind of a tight fit but i'm not sure of anyone selling 4 space frac panels.
you could get one of these and you should be set.
http://www.paia.com/proddetail.asp?prod=FRB%2D3&cat=44
yeah synthmonger i figured that is exactly what i would do. the site says the only potential ill effect is the S&H might leak faster so i can deal with that until i get the chance to change it out. i socket all my ic's anyway.
PM sent statemachine. and i meant to say to anyone if they just want me to design something and throw it up on the site i'm up for that too, along with personal or business stuff i guess. "social filter" is a good term. i like that!

hey para,
thank you mate. i appreciate the help.
i think what i will probably end up doing is just buying some paia blanks, and drilling some holes in them.
i really like using graph paper for front panel designs, and just taping them to the front of blank panels. very unique and diy.

do you have any photos of what you mean? you could also use these
http://www.papilio.com/inkjet%20waterproof%20adhesive%20film%20media.html
thats what i used on these with a ton of clear coat http://thesquarewaveparade.com/downgrade.html when i get to the blacet version of the DG i'm going to use those too. probably on everything i do for a while. very easy to work with but you can only get then online so far
or a more diy version is to cut out something from a mag or whatever and use some slightly watered down/thinned out elmers glue on the back like wallpaper ( make sure it doesn't bunch up or wrinkle, you have to be very careful ) and paste an image like i did on this http://thesquarewaveparade.com/parallel-1.html and then clear coat it. the white line is just paintpen to cover up the edge of the print
des moines? i grew up in sioux city.

Here is a live track using my 2 SN Voice modules. doesn't really show off the module but it was first recording using them so I thought I'd post it here.
SN's come in around 40 secs and run till end of track, fixed pulse from SN 1 fm'd by noise from SN voice 2, fed to a auto panner. Noise slightly tweaked throughout recording.

sounds great
Big Thanks to Bill for the PCBs, Scott and Thomas for sharing their work.
the joystick is wired to the switches on the 1 V/oct and Kbd jacks.
I added a momentary switch to the joystick panel (since taking the photo) to 'open' the gate.
blue led is for the LFO, red/green for envelope and pul/noise outputs.

Now that looks great ! This is fantastic starting to see pictures trickling in showing off the hardware people are building with the SN Voice.
There have been over 100 SN Voice printed circuit boards sold to customers worldwide so there lots of synthesizers that will be built out there
Lets get some shots of the the innards as well as the front panels of your creations guys!
Thanks!

Thanks for posting the pictures of the "guts" .... Hmm, I am curious about the tube VCA. I have to check this one out .....
I have been designing my own VCA's using the SSM2164 from Analog devices. I just got done tweaking the linearization circuit as the basic gain cell is exponentially responsive. The VCA's will have electronically controlled Linear or Log response curve.
