ickystay I just noticed you are in Oregon too! I'm PDX. Yes I can share some pics tomorrow. It's a bit embarrassing, I made it really big so I'd have room for bodges and jumpers. I based it off of the original schematics, and then made all the modifications recommended by THeff to get it to actually work. My 3080 input was always sitting at +15V before.

I'm itching to get a new pcb made, nice and clean. But I have to nail down this tone range issue first. My goal would be to maybe add the run generator circuit from the SDS 800 and possibly the impact as well (I don't hear a huge difference with the impact all the way up or down, again could be my circuit board and no issue with the original design).

I'm also having trouble sourcing the 2N5459s, I've had to sub for 2N5457 so not sure if that is the source of my oscillator range issue.

Well here ya go, here is a YouTube link of my pcb working, finally. https://youtu.be/NwPKSygW1UM?si=2k-7VXj4Svexp2BK

The run generator only works half the time, and even then when it is triggering and outputting it's waveform it doesn't seem to do much. I have half a mind to "borrow" or better yet repurpose the run generator from the SDS 800. I have no actual experience with either the SDS-3 nor the 800,maybe someone else can share if the functionality of the two run generators are similar? I would imagine so.

I just need to add regulators to get the 5V and - 5V. I am also tempted to try out the impact sub circuit from the 800,i don't love the impact from the SDS-3, but maybe that adds to the oginals charm.

I am also curious about trying out a different white noise circuit but not sure if it's worth it. If anyone has any suggestions to improve this circuit I am all ears.

Next order of business is to condense the PCB and get more channels made so I can have a full fledge SDS-3.

My problem with the oscillator range was the same as others before me here on the forum (XPMNTL I believe). I did not have access to the 2N5459 originally so I subbed for 2N5457. Apparently that is a no go. Eventually I found some on ebay and boom the oscillator range works.

Major thanks to all who put in the work and time before me to help me get to this point. XPMNTL and THeff especially!

Nice seeing you as well Mr Noodle Driver. Honestly I would have never got my circuit working without this forum. I'm currently looking for a FET compressor to add to really get that clean crisp tone. But everything has high parts count. Looking for something simple.

Happy noodling friend!
