Klee sequencer |
 |
|
Hi
I got put onto thread this by a friend who wants me to build a Klee sequencer for him
From the description he gave me I thought that he was NUTS
However having spent the last two days going through the thread I think that I am nuts for missing this little gem in the first place
Count me in for two (for sure) mabe three boards

I had a PM chat with Mosc today - he'll be out of the loop for two weeks, then after that the second run looks like a go.

Hey Karoshka,
I've been running behind all year long...sorry about that.
With this run, there shouldn't be a need for a waiting list. We'll just put the boards in the store and let people buy them at their leisure. There should be enough there to handle that with a few left over.
Cheerio,

Hello,
hmmm, how many does one need?
Should I take FOUR?
How much would one PCB cost?
I think I would take two at least.
Bye and thanks,

The second run of Klee boards is subject to EM having the funds to pay for another set of 100 up front. Keep in mind that even though the manufacturing costs of the board set are down to about US$17 (with a run of 100) that's still US$1700 which needs to be put up. Scott, Mosc and I are already quite confident that this is a safe investment, but it still needs to come from somewhere. The sale of the first run has gone some way towards making this happen. That outlay came straight from Scott's funds. I don't know if he has covered it yet.
Once we have a bit of a "kitty" we'll be able to cover extra runs, new projects, prototype costs etc. But until then we need to tread carefully, and be patient and diligent about how we go about the process.
I don't mean to step on anyone's toes by pointing out these facts. I just feel that absolute transparency is paramount to us making this venture a viable thing. Not just for the next project or two, but on into the future of electro-music.com
The gathering of experience we have in our community, and the power of our collective interest means we could all benefit from cheap, good quality PCBs if we do it right. _________________ What makes a space ours, is what we put there, and what we do there. |
