CSQ-100 Subject description: Trying to make this live again.. |
 |
|
I scored a broken Roland CSQ100 sequencer a few days ago off ebay.
Jumpered over three traces severed by a small crack in the edge of the board.
Only remaining thing wrong I can see at this point is the three missing switches;
- 1 three way for Memory
- 2 two ways for Play
Apparently someone had given this thing up for dead and scavenged those three switches.
Anyone know off the top of their head which switches I should score from Mouser, or where-ever?
Any other items I should look at/pre-emptively replace?
What about powering up - should I use a variac to bring it up gentle, or is that only relevant for older stuff?
All the caps *look* fine to me, ditto for the transformer, but then I'm new here. ;]
Thanks in advance, _________________ ~ !J!

I have one switch, and from the pictures I've seen, the pinout on the board, and the hole in the front panel, it looks to be the same as the missing three position, and similar to the missing two position switches.
So no need to disassemble yours, thanks though. =] External pix would be cool if it's not too inconvenient; can always use more images.
Also, looking at other Roland gear from the same era, they all seem to use the same/similar switches.
For example, the switch used for the Transpose on the SH1 looks a lot like the three-way, and the Kybd/Ext. CV Gate switch looks like the two way:

Or the Basic Variation and LF/Variation switches at the bottom of an 808:

Or the Portamento and Transpose on an SH101:

The pinout on the board looks like:

..
..
..
. .
2 Position

..
..
..
. .
Three Position
I've been digging through parts sites already, but if someone already had done the legwork, why reinvent the wheel, eh?
Given that there have been 50+ views and only one reply, I'm going to post what I find here for others, in case they're ever in a similar boat... or just like those switches. =] _________________ ~ !J!

chipforbrains at ebay
http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZchipforbrainsQQfrppZ50QQfsopZ1QQfsooZ1QQrdZ0
usually sells both types of switches that you need (got one for a broken csq600 from him once)
(he has not any for sale at the moment, but try to get in touch with him, or check his auctions for a while, Im sure it wont take long before something turns up... )
cheers
