O.k. I will be brutally honest...I only became aware of this machine within the last year(!) after being under the rock of virtual analog (Arturia,N.I.,G-Media, the whole lot) and don't get me wrong because I love em' all and they all have their uses. BUT THREE DAYS INTO OWNING THIS BABY AND I AM CONVINCED THAT THIS IS ONE OF THE FINEST ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENTS EVER MADE! I feel giddy. There really is NO comparing the two and I am so glad I made the purchase before the plug is finally pulled on production. No more control surface mapping. No aliasing. No screwing around forever to get things to sit in the mix. AND THE SOUND. OH the SOUND! It is capable of very nuanced and character rich patches that have driven me to forget about my girlfriend,my job,the fact that I am mortal blah blah blah... This is an immediate synthesizer for anyone with a good knowledge of subtractive synthesis. Enjoy this baby and we are all VERY lucky to have such a machine! I will upload a patch bank soon hopefully! Enjoy the weekend!

I gather this has been moved here from another thread, as I don't see what Dorkhearse is talking about here...except for Klagga's mention of "the A6," which I take it is an Alesis A6? Shocked

Gary

Hi Gary,

Yep he is talking about the A6 which is also called Andromeda. This is the sub-forum for them.

Nice bit of kit which is somewhere on my GAS list Smile

Ah, that explains it. I just popped in here from my RSS link, which doesn't tell me what area of the forum I'm going to. Didn't bother to look to see, either. Very Happy

Gary

dorkhearse, I share your enthusiasm, it's one of the most exciting and fun synths I've ever had the pleasure to own and use.
I even find it more fun and sonically rewarding than my all time favorite synth, which was the Roland JD800. At times I think the A6 can sound similar in the pad department.

gary..to me there is only one synth which can cause such a high level of excitement and that is the Andromeda, that's why I knew it was the Andy he was writing about. Laughing
