How to start your own music business? |
 |
|
I would really like some help on this. I know nobody to ask this and I created a site because from soundclick.com I got a response from someone who wants an album and says he is a big fan. I responded saying I could create an album for him but now I don't want to send it to him for free.
so I created a web page and I'm going to direct him to this page to get my album,
What do you think of my plan and the web page http://home.comcast.net/~arcana23/album_purchases.htm
I'm charging only $5 and it has the albums pictures songs and etc. with it.
Is this a good idea? _________________ Life ends before you ever knew it existed.

Listening to your stuff now. I like it.
The web site looks OK. I think you should write up some text that expains the CD - what it is about and anything that would help a potential buyer understand what they might be getting.
Fine to sell your stuff directly, but it'll cost you money to ship the CD. Charging $5.00 and not more for S/H means you are just about giving them away, which is OK if you want.
Have you thought of selling CDs at the electro-music.com store? |

You make good points. I should raise it to $7 at least than.
I'll enhance the site with a description and brief story about the music.
I've never looked at this site's store. I should check it out.
Thank you. _________________ Life ends before you ever knew it existed.

see this: http://electro-music.com/article.php?t=117
I have finished listening to all of the tracks on your music site. Very nice stuff. Is you piano music written out or improvised. If you have MIDI files of these tunes, I'd be interested in realizing one or two. I've got some nice epianos, including a Kurzweil. |

Thankyou! I could turn them into midi files with just a click of the button.
These are pure Impromptu and recorded as I play.
I use the Triton Studio Sampler/workstation and was told it had the best piano samples when I bought it last year. Plus I program them to add a little more realism to surrealism depending on my mood. I never change the samples or the songs after I finish so they are preset programs I created to fit my many moods and enhance that mood before I play.
I tried rearranging some of them to be more perfect and it fell through. I lost all my love for that piece as picked each note and tried to recompose it using theory and composition rules. It's just not the same that way.
If you want to learn to play or realize some I'd give you permission knowing they are copyrighted through "Paintings on Silence 1999" _________________ Life ends before you ever knew it existed.

| Your server is down so I couldn't take a look... but I'll just agree with mosc... You should consider selling your cd's through electro-music in addition to selling direct. I also agree you're short changing yourself on the cd cost. |

Sorry about that! I panicked when my site went down and actually made it worse then it was by trying to upload it via comcast and Microsoft's tools instead of just FTP'ing it. Silly me. Yes I cannot sell anything on comcasts site so I deleted that segment and will work with this sites store as soon as I can understand it's stipulations.
