Does anyone have the exact names of the sounds from the Nord Sound Library card4 bank2 (Peter Gorges) and bank3 (Gertjan Essenstam)? It seems that the names do not match...

Thanks in advance!

welcome renata

In the archive there are only the lists provided by Clavia.
Card4Bank3 is delivered by GertJan Essenstam, but Card4Bank2 is done by someone called Master Q.

You mean the names in the lists don't match the sounds produced the synth, like 'Twinkling Star' produce a 'Boomin'Bass'?

There could be a lot of reasons for that, but only a few solutions.
First Clavia could have made a mistake, years ago and I don't think they will remember.
Secondly the names could refer ro a particular song of the designer. After all he was free to name the Programs as he thought was right.

As you noticed Card4 is done by outside the house designers. Bank1 is created by John Lehmkuhl.

First question returning to you: why do you want to know?
Also: how do you know there is a Bank made by Peter? I only know him from the Nord Modular.

About solutions...
The names are not in the LCD screen of the synth, so why bother?
You can give it any name you want, so choose your own.

Which brings me to another point of few about the matter...
If you are using these SysEx files into another synth, beware they are original designed and delivered to the NordLead made by Clavia and not to compatible clones of the synth. Don't go commercial with these, special Card4...

Wout,

thanks for reply

Answers:

1) I want to know the precise names of the sounds - because (as you've said) the names in the lists don't match the sounds produced by the synth
2) well, you can see that Peter is the author - read documentation inside the archive (maybe you didn't came to the end of a page) or info on download page http://www.clavia.se/downloads/index.htm
3) "Clavia made mistake" - that's for sure
4) "the names could refer ro a particular song of the designer" - hm... hardly in this case
5) there is no commercial background in "my" issue, just wanted to have the real names in my library (and that would be nice, don't you think?)
6) All the sounds from the library are included in 2x factory presets (bank0-9) but the names are messed up there too...

Uh, I hate to use numbers (it looks like lecture), sorry, just tried to organize my thougths Smile

Indeed, Peter George is named to be the publisher. There is a line below...
So, the only one who can tell is Peter...
I'll try to contact him.

I wrote Peter already. I hope he will answer...

Clavia is not important, because none of the emloyees other than Hans Nordelius were on the ship at this time.

Finally, I found some free time to test my ears (and my blondy brain) to see if I can sort this sounds by their names without any external help... And guess what? I did it! Smile
BUT HOW
After endless try-fail combinatorics, I realized that there is no match at all. In fact, you cannot connect names with sounds. Not this way. And, if the hard way doesn't work, then you conclude that solution must be something really (stupid and) simple. And yes, it was. VERY SIMPLE.
I guess you want the answer now? I will write it in the next post IF you want. Maybe there is someone who would like to solve this puzzle alone, and I don't want to spoil anybody's fun Smile /strange way of having fun, eh?/ But if not, I will post the answer. So...

Wish you all a nice evening (or morning)
Smile

Well, please do!
Or it must be something like switching the two parts in the text file...

At the moment I don't have the time due to some writing about the NordLead. A complete new way to create sounds, special sounds.
I only reveal it's about an internal delay Smile

BTW do you own a Lead/Rack or Lead2/Rack2.
It is not for the 2X series, whick lacks the delay module...

In the spirit of fun ["Anyone know how to make this sound on the NordLead?", "I know the answer, BTW"], you may try to recognize the model...

(and a song Smile

Cheers

To my ears it is a Lead2, but I hope it is a Lead2X.
This afternoon I try to find out what's wrong with the Peter George bank, and will write more about the bass sound text.

So wait a moment posting the solution.

Smile

I't try again Smile

Wout

There are some mismatches IN THE bank(s) itself, around few patches. And more, there are patches which ARE on the right place, but that is 2 or 3 at most. But, the global solution is 2=3 and then we can investigate further

Yes, number 9 convinced me: 1209Pheabee is certainly 1109Kraftwerk, in the electro-music Archive, that is. Kraftwerk only needs an Arpeggiator set to an octave higher to start Autobahn Very Happy

Must go now, hope we'll have the next funny days soon...

Best regards,

Just kidding

Correction: I checked it today again and it seem that there is no further mismatches (on a first look, I concluded too quickly that there is). So the only thing to be done is to swith the names of banks 2 and 3. Nothing more - everything is completely ok (except in Clavia's manual and docs Smile
/I think that kind of mistakes are a bad marketing. Even in the Manual this is not changed. Hm..makes you wonder - is there any musician up there in the north...have they used their instrument in last 15 years....And I still can't belive that nobody in Clavia noticed this (also sorry if I misjudged some of you)/

la si do la si do

do la si do

do la do do la

Thats all northern people

Stay well

Well, the Manual...
How about the 'left most Slot Midi channel'?
It is changed, but the Manual still writes about it.
Most Manuals are done by outsiders (from Clavia's point of view, that is). This is mostly done by companies.

I have switches the first 12 Programs already.
Won't work in one go, just some spare moments.

Hi,

I changed some of the archive files and corrected the two banks.
http://nm-archives.electro-music.com/020_NordLead2/Red_Lady/0000Factory01-40/ProgramIndex.htm
It is still not finished, so mucg more to come.
I placed pictures of the creators of the Programs and a short bio.

It is in proof reading now...
