4th run of the PS3100 Resonator + X-Pan/Fader Subject description: taking pre-orders (no money) until 23 MAY 12, 1300 UTC |
 |
|
i could do a 4th run any time, if there is enough interest (50 PCBs min). project page:
http://www.modular.fonik.de/Page46.html
there is no deadline yet, i am just asking. however, if you indicate interest, be honest about it, please.
[EDIT may 15th] i am taking pre-orders (but no money) until wednesday 23 MAY, 1300 UTC.
complete Resonators & X-Pan-Fader documentation - 2.5 MB
there will be a PS3100 PCB v3 again,
then there is a 2nd board containing a simple stereo x-pan-fader. the VCAs used are not that fancy, simplified ones for just that panning purpose (driven by the PS3100 LFO mainly). it is an expansion board in the first place, but could be built as a standalone module too.
i lowered the price by 3USD/2EUR each PCB
PRICING:
PS3100 PCB 13.-USD/10.-EUR
X-Pan-Fader PCB 9.-USD/7.-EUR
+ packaging & postage
outside europe 1 PCB 3.-USD, 2+ PCBs 6.-USD
europe 1 PCB 2.-EUR, 2+ PCBs 4.-EUR
deutschland 1 PCB 1.-EUR, 2+ PCBs 2.-EUR _________________

Do the resonators have any ability to "over-resonate" or maybe self-oscillate? maybe scream a little? You could try Triple Res --> VCA --> Tripple Res to see if you can get some kind of feedback going.
Also, beautiful documentation, Fonik!! other DIYers need to take note for their public projects!!!! |

one COULD add feedback (resonance), alt least the MAM resonator has. however, it has to be done carefully. i tried it with an attenuated signal, however, this did nto work out quite well. the happy spot is very narrow. _________________

has anyone built this module with banana jacks?
since the LFO modulation is accomplished with switching jacks on the CV inputs, i was thinking of just adding a switch to choose between the LFO and external CV.
Sound like the most logical/easiest solution? _________________ http://www.youtube.com/user/borisandfef |

also, Matthias, in your demo video, i'm assuming the pots on the CV inputs are attenuverters?
Is that what's causing the inversion of the modulation in the #3 input?
Thanks! _________________ http://www.youtube.com/user/borisandfef |

this is what i would assume, too. the manual switch is the common thing to do with bananas.

nope, no attenuverters. there is a switch for inverting the LFO on BPF #3 only. _________________

Just getting my act together to make mine *erm been busy....*. I am also making a banana version. I was planning to have the cv input for each stage on a banana going to the hot connection or point 3 of J1,2,3 on the circuit diagram.
Then I was going to take an LFO out from J4 and an inverted LFO out from SW1 point 3 (with a 1k in series). Then I can patch a regular or inverted LFO out to any of the filters. Only one extra banana socket and no switch!! _________________ http://soundcloud.com/for-mash-get-ash |

Sorry if this has been answered in the past, what's the recommended method for setting the trim pots? _________________ http://www.youtube.com/user/borisandfef |
