A09 transistor

Hello,
I have an old elka string machine that needs a transistor replaced. The original is A09 which is NPN. I cannot find any datasheet online about it, does anyone know what a good replacement would be?

Typing A09 in here -

- indicates that it could be an MPS-A09 , with loads of equivalent replacements ( including some 2N and BC types ) that shouldn't be too hard to track down.
