Hi folks
I just finished wiring this octopus and when I went to test it only light 2 and a couple of LEDs were on, then suddenly the holy smoke
I checked and probably I plugged the module wrong
The ferrite beads were cooked...
So I replaced them and tried again being more careful now with the ribbon cable and now nothing seems like working....not one led...zero
but when I switch off the main power all the LEDs are quickly flashing all together
Maybe together with the ferrite beads I fried something else...
Should I replace all the ice??
Or where I'm supposed to check?

If you did indeed plug it in backwards there will probably be a number of parts damaged. The 7805 regulator and all of the op amps do not tolerate reverse voltage, so there is a good chance that one or more are toast. IC 3, 13, and 14 may be ok since they are on the other side of the 7805. The rest of the digital chips connected to the +/-15 volt rails may or may not be gone, it really all depends on whether a few parts absorbed most of the power or whether they all ended up more or less sharing the current. The electrolytic capacitors may also have been damaged, see if any are bulging or look like they got hot.

You could replace the voltage regulator and all of the ICs as a starting point, then see where you are at.

Take care,
Doug

Last nite I checked again
I ealized the voltage regulator was inverted...must be because of the of the "o" on the pads that made me think of it as "output"....but then checking the schematics, that, definitely didn't matched....
The LEDs now are at different brightness so I presume the tl074 and the 4066 could benefit from a replacement.....
Thank god there are not so many electrolytic on board so also that could be a good move....
