Amy X looking for Netherlands gig(s) |
 |
|
Well I just officially joined, finally, and I have no idea whether I'm doing this right...
(The little icons and things are cute!)
While recently searching for myself ( ) I discovered Howard's 2005 post asking abt. Netherlands gigs on my behalf. Thank you, Howard! As it turned out, that gig never worked out. (It was the XperimentL series in Rotterdam.)
But now I've got an actual worked out gig at the Berlin Poetry Festival on June 2 and I am planning to go to the Netherlands as well (will see Rob there!) .... but I never got it together to find a gig there because I am a lazy hippie and also don't know the first thing abt. booking my own gigs in Europe. Emboldened by Howard's post, I now, at the last minute, reach out to electro-musicians everywhere:
Does anyone know of venues in the Netherlands that would appreciate my music and might book me on short notice, anytime June 5 through June 12?
Thank you for your help! xx |

Hi Amyx
welcome to electro-music.com
I guess I am one of the few proud owners (here in Italy) of your "Residue" CD. Great

I would certainly come! Perhaps you could give OCCII in Amsterdam a try. They're a small but very nice and cosy venue focusing on experimental non-commercial music.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions, everyone. I did try OCII but no response. It looks like I may have something at Die Nieuwe Anita and something at the Patronaat cafe. Still working it out. Any opinions about those clubs??

I don't know those venues too well, I'm afraid.
All I know is that Patronaat is in Haarlem, right?
Pity that OCCII don't respond, have you tried both adresses? |

Well, that was quite incredible. Amazing to see her perform with the drumpad triggers and the looping device.
The venue was not quite what I expected, by the way.
It was not unlike a really cosy living room with a bar. |

Unfortunately most of humanity did, I mean, there was not a lot of public, hardly anyone at all.
The next best thing to seeing her live is http://electro-music.com/catalog/forums.html/cPath/6_32 _________________ Jan

So is her performance!
Let try to get her back, in the near future!
Amy has not a dance act: it's music one has to listen to.
What she's doing on the CD she can do live on stage too.
What we need is a rather large list of venues, where she can be booked.
Not to large, seats about 100.
