hi,

strange thing. i have noticed a negative value midi latency during the recording.

the audio file (midi Nord Rack 2 midi sequence recorded to Ableton Live as and audio) is a little bit early then the rest of audio. i thought the latency issues gets positive delay values (something is late then the rest) but here the problem is different.

did you experienced this problem before?

best

j

I think it can be two things...
1 An april fool, but it means the date on your computer is set wrongly...
2 or the rest has a big deal of latency!
Is the NR2 the only not softsynth?

hi wout and thnx for the answer.

no, NR2 is one of the synths that i use but the only hardware external one - the rest are soft synths.

the date is correct - i see the right date on the computer clock Smile

the rest... hmm. in Live there is a Driver Error Compensation values that when set as -192 samles make the recorded Nord Rack audio in sync.

BUT if i set this to as an overall system latency (not dealing with NR2) it is + 162 samples.

?

I'm afraid I never worked with Live in my life...

Somebody else could help?

I had a similar problem when I first bought my 2X Rack and used it with Cubase SX1. It's over a year ago now and I'd completely forgotten about it until I read it here, but if memory serves, the problem was related to the creation of "virtual" or "Emulated" MIDI ports, and the hiding of the real ones. There was something about renaming a file that solved the problem and you can find out by doing a few google searches - can't remember what terms but the answer is out there.

I upgraded to Cubase Studio 4 a couple of months later and the problem doesn't occur with that. Good luck sorting it out, it was well annoying!
