Melody/chord generator in slotA(yellow). It produces 'runs' of 8 notes in up or down direction.

Consecutive notes are spaced 1 or 2 semitones apart. The delay shift registers are used to store the 8 note and velocity values. Only 4 of the values are used as notes.

Notes in the run are played (sometimes) as they come, and as chords from the memory.

The chord gates go through modulated logic delays in series to give (randomly) strum or mini arpeggio effects.

The bass in slot D has its note value set to the lower of either the top or bottom chord note (because the runs go up or down). The selected bass value is then sent through a MOD 12 to limit it to one octave.

The pad notes are the same as the pianoish chords but via a mod 36.
