I was inspired by the Lunetta Challenge to create more with Lunettas, however I was tired of wiring stuff up. I also wanted to create something that I could share with others. So I decided to write a ChucK program that makes Lunettas.

I called the program Lunettatic for fun and started coding it up while broadcasting on my port at electro-music radio. I'm doing that now as i write this, and I used Nicecast to record just a short little segment of the first working version.

I've attached the code and the audio sample. The circuit is as follows: It's a Boolean Sequencer clocked at 6 Hz with a 12 bit counter (CD4040 model) and XOR gates going to a summing network at the output. Simple, yet sounds kind of pleasant. More later as I progress.

I added spatialization using a CD4052 mux model in ChucK software form. It works by a two-bit selection of the four spatial positions which use simulated resistor dividers to weight the inputs, more on left for left spatial position and more on right for right spatial position. Hear the bits bounce around in your head, wow what a beepy triip! enjoy!

Here is the final version with spatialized sound and three voices.

Wacky and fun!

I've just barely started to scratch the surface of sound programming languages (pure data, Processing, Super Collider, Chuck).

Your examples and creativity are inspiring!
