Hey!

I'm currently thinking about incorporating a MFOS Noise Cornucopia into my mostly DIY eurorack system. I would build it from scratch since it doesn't seem overly complicated to build and I've had quite some success building modules from scratch lately. Although I already have a noise module from a kit in my system (Entropy) what I'm really interested in are the grainy noise and random gate parts in Noise Cornucopia.

Now what I'm not really sure about is what the grainy noise actually sounds like. There are very few demos I could find and so I came here to ask: do you know any good video/ sound demos for that build or can anybody upload a tiny sound demo if you have the module yourself? It should sound like clicks and pops and such, right?

Thanks in advance and have a great week!

I don't have a recording of my grainy output but it sounds the same as in a video by Eddy Bergman at the bottom of this page...

https://www.eddybergman.com/2020/05/synthesizer-build-part-31-noise-module.html

As with Eddy's implementation, I veroboarded mine and left out the random gates. However, unlike Eddy's layout, I used a different pink noise (low pass) filter based on the third schematic on this page...

https://syntherjack.net/make-some-pink-noise-generator/

which is based on the Elliot Sound Products design on this page...

It's an easy module to make. I used a 2N3904 transistor as a noise source.

ah, thanks!

I even visited that eddy bergman's page on the module before but didn't check the video. mmmh, now i don't know wether I need to build it since i expected the grainy noise to be less dense and more clicky-oppy :/. I'll overthink it once again.

Cheers!

It can get very crackly at the low end of the potentiometer. I am sure you can alter the circuit to your exact needs.
