Hello Everyone,
I just wanted to know if its possible to use a 15-v power supply instead of a gay 9-v battery. I saw a Thomas Henry Article featuring a Dual
15-v power supply and want to incorprate that so i can make the Step Sequencer and the Sound lab off one plug and as one unit.

Thanks in advance,
EL

Well i just found that the Soundlab only runs on 9v which totaly sucks for my project. How can you all stand just using a 9v battery. HOw long does it last?. Does anyone have any bipolar 9v Circuit casue the sequencer can run off 9v too?

Thanks,
EL

well SoundLab runs also on +-12V

take a look on Regulated Plus and Minus 12 Volt Power Supply

if you want to go for the +-15V PSU. you can regulate some +-9V for your SoundLab whit 7809 (voltage regulator)

and topics that might interest you:
external power source
PSU instead of batteries?

the 442/444 op amps have very low power consumption... i've had the original batteries in mine for 2 years (intermittent use) w/out having to replace 'em. batteries also mean no issues w/ 60hz hum, so it's not all bad. figuring out a +/-9v powersupply should be trivial, tho--adapt any 12 or 15 v schematic, just replace the transformer and regulator chips w/ ones of smaller values.

Could you also use 2 12V powersupplies (like for laptops) wired in succession?

If I build that circuit on the MFOS page what will I need to connect it to the wall? English isn't my first laguage. What is a 25 VAC center tapped Transformer?

It's a 2x12V AC transformer, I used one for that PSU... Cool

you just need to connect the 25 VAC Transformer (Transformator 25 V -Primärspänning: 230 V~) so that the "Primärspänning" goes to wall and the 25V end goes to diodes. the center tap is the extra "tap" on the secondary side of the transformer and must be connected to ground.
(ask for center tapped Transformer from your local supplier and they will know what you want)
