Hi, I have tried cross modulation as described by mosc in this thread (scroll down a bit), and unfortunately it's not working.

I used two cycle~ objects, and it works fine until I make the last connection (from a cycle~ output to the frequency input on the other cycle~ ). At this point, all sound disappears.

Is it possible that max/msp is not allowing this kind of circular connection? can someone please post a patch with a working cross-modulation in it, I'd be very grateful!

thanks

The output amplitude of the cycle~ is between -1 to 1 and you try to modulate the frequency of another cycle~ object (carrier) with this kind of signal. So, in this case, the output frequency of the second cycle~ object (carrier) is between -1 to 1 Hz (ultra low frequency) and that's why the sound disappeared. Try to multiply the output of the modulator (the first cycle~ object) with *~ object to reach the audible frequencies, before you connect it to carrier frequency input.
