any possibility that you have the manual for AKAI GX 4000D reel to reel tape recorder ? maybe in .PDF of some other Hi-resolution copy.

i just got it and it´s great but i would love to read the manual.
and the ones i finded on Internet are really bad scans.

I cannot promise anything, but I will have a look in the closet ASAP. I dragged in some boxes with old manuals just now and I know I have had the 4000D manual somewhere. Hmm, I think I have it in german or something.

Uh, those scans are bad but still readable. If I find it I would have to scan the manual anyway and this version you have found here is actually "better" than the one I have. Better in the sense that it contains more info ( which of course is pretty scarce anyway ). Shocked

I am postponing the search.

It isn´t quite the same. I read the one you found online. It is tempting to print it and simply throw the stack of papers into the closet in case I will ever need it 10 years from now. Hmm, I always do that. No wonder I am running out of storage space. However, the scans are bad and the real info is pretty scarce anyway. The thing to have is the english service manual. I have seen that once and it is reasonably good. If I remember correctly the section on head adjustments and such is rather good.

Is there anything in particular that you want to see?
It is 16 pages and each page has information in English, French and German.
