A little box I always thought would be interesting (but disclaimer - have never played with or heard live - just the demos on line...) - is the Adrenalinn:

http://www.rogerlinndesign.com/products/adrenalinn2.shtml

Part beat matching effects, part amp modeler, part drum machine... I see them listed used every so often. (here's one on this side of the globe: http://www.bigcitymusic.com/product.asp?cat=vintage&pid=3001219 )

It's still on my potential list of future gear (along with an Evolver synth, expanding my modular, and updating my pc...)

...

I'm not endorsing this because I've never seen or heard it - but noticed it on Analogue Haven's site and thought of this thread... Looks kind of fun.

Scroll about half way down - "Red Sound Federation bpm fx-pro" $350.00 USD

I cannot afford Moog and expensive analog stuff so i'm trying to find the best solution with some hardware components (live oriented) and Pc software.

Solid thinking.

My only concern is that i read KP2 is plenty of sound effects and just the 10% is ok ...is it true? what about the sound quality?

Hmmmm, it depends. I think Korg has some of the nicer sounding stuff of the modern dance oriented boxes but it can sound kinda "finished" and polite which makes it hard to stand next to rougher elements in a mix. In your position it's certainly a strong contender and it is interesting as a MIDI controller for the software as well. I think I'd recomend it for you, yes. However; if you would put it next to a "real" big analogue effects rack it'll be blown away. Still; it's nice and compact for giging and you can do a lot in the mix. Another good point is that the Kaoss pads do encouage "Playing" your effects which is very nice. It's a compromise for sure but it's not a bad compromise at all and we all have to compromise anyway, Play with it before you pay.

Redsound seems interesting...i have noticed a couple of sellers on EBAY ...very cheap.

The Adrenalinn seems to me a little bit too guitarplayer related

Kassen, can KaossPad2 play differents effects togheter (es: flanger+Delay+Compressor...) or is just 1 at the time?

Being a newbie into electronic music, i wonder what a "real" big analogue effects rack" should contain in it's starter kit form. And what could be the minimum investment i should consider?
