Visions of Excess

Press Play video series seeks video shorts about extreme indulgence and excessiveness. Surpass the limits of rationality, exaggerate, overreact, camp it up, bring down the house and tell it like it is. Parodies, caricatures, obsessions, orgies, frenzies, burlesque, satires, and Dionysian displays welcomed.

Whether it's creative resistance or visual abstraction, leave genres at the door: Narrative, activist, performance documentation, experimental, animation -- we want it all!

Press Play is a video series dedicated to bringing national and international video work by emerging and established artists to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

* Deadline: Postmarked no later than March 1, 2004

* Submission format: Mini-DV NTSC format is preferred. VHS NTSC format will also be accepted. Please cue tape to the desired point. Include a SASE if you would like your tape returned.

* Length: Works should be no longer than 30 minutes.

* Additional materials: One paragraph biographical statement and one paragraph description of the work.

* Submission and Screening Fees: None

* Awards: None

Previously screened works are welcome. Work previously screened in Pittsburgh will be considered.
