what's the fizmo like, if you've used one. a friend of mine has offered to lend me one. i'm very into my G2 at the moment, is it really unique enough to tear myself away from the nord?

I have never been able to hear the fizmo but I have always read good things about it. I would not pass the opportunity to have one lent to me Wink

Posted Image, might have been reduced in size. Click Image to view fullscreen.

I've never seen one myself. It might be interesting to piddle with for a while but nothing in the description lights my fire.

I recommend you check it out. The Fizmo is a Fizmo and it isn´t like anything else out there. You should decide if that is a good thing or not.

A friend of mine has a FIZMO-Rack version and I once had it for some weeks in my house.
This thing is great but noz easy to handle. Even if it looks like a simple VA-Synth the whole handling is not quite so modern. The display consists of only 3 7-Segments. (In a way its similiar to the Mirage Wink ) And there are a lot of parameters to hanlde. (Get Sounddiver do get rid of this handling problem).
To be honest, the main parameters are there of course as Knobs. So "just" playing is not the problem. But when it gets more into detail (and this machine even has DSP-FXs inside.) its getting kinda tricky.
But speaking about sound: Its something for the experimentalists. It can do a lot of eerie waveforms and modulation... Not a synthie for mainstream, but great.
