Same here.

I am sure if we were to talk about the questions answered we would agree though, it's just everything else we disagree on!

It was only PC's and "the state of the water in Bexhill" that I was miffed about Laughing

It's funny because once upon a time the mobile phone, the pasta maker and the water filter were all frowned upon as "those items used by yuppies". Now these things seem to be the norm within the middle classes. Am I middle class? Well I admit to owning both a mobile phone and a pasta machine (although I never use the latter, it was given to me- honestly!), I suppose we are blessed in Birmingham for having the welsh mountains in such close proximity. Dunno about a scum on the water, but I had some unfiltered water at my mum's the other day- in Bognor, that had a layer of soil in the bottom Shocked Organic?? Shocked Shocked

I'm most definately a fascist synthesist- even if I do have lefty tendencies Laughing

Me neither not even the Track phone (no idea what it is even, but then again we don't have emergencies here in the Netherlands I guess ... erm .. or at least anyone else will have a mobile phone Very Happy )

No dishwasher either, I do have eight computers though ... but that was never really a yup thing, but more of a nerd thing ... and a micro wave ... could not live without it ...

erm what was the topic again

Yes Carlo. As much as Hitler was a National Socialist too. Idea

Socialism is crap anyway. Look where it has got this country. Socialism and Neo-conservatism share much in common.

Let's get this straight. I am NO fascist.

Gee I've never worn a jock strap, definitely not into leather (but boy Arthur C. Clark sure was--but let's not go there Embarassed ) so I'm drawing a complete blank on that one.

That's a picture of me talking to one of my horses and the mane of another who wants in on the conversation. He thought I was revealing the secret location of the alfalfa cubes.

seraph... you live in Fierenze, why would you even think of a pasta maker? It would be like me getting a gas grill (I live in a forest ad use fallen trees, for those who don't faithfully follow the world of O). I do split the wood with an axe, as opposed to a gas powered wood splitter. I'm a closet lumberjack!

Threads like this always get out of hand, btw.

I do have a dishwasher, but its for stearlization purposes. BUT, we are saying no to the electic, self-cleaning cat litter box!

speaking of water filters...

Here's the deal. Our water is quite clean, I've tested it myself. Unfortunately, the well depends on forces beyond our control. Primarily rain and power failures. So, we have this filter system on the kitchen sink, is not always used. We are considering a washable filtration system for the entire house. Have the line coming from the well to the house go through the filter. See, last year, the pump motor had to be replace, then the tank, then all the faucets, then I didn't connect one of the properly and it came loose and flooded the entire house, which destroyed all of our bedroom slippers and prompted the purchase of a new sofa. I can't believe it didn't do more damage. Me and my 81 year old mother-in-law are a good team in the area of flood reclamation. The problem is that there aren't too many plumbers that come out where we live, so I'm thinking of doing it my self. But since the flood, my wife forbids it.

Just a thought.

BTW, after taking the test, I was talking to my son and he is taking an accounting class this semester, and I told him I got through two years of accounting at FSU in the late seventies and didn't remember it, blocked it out of my mind, and I told him about the money song and ....

"You can keep your Marxist ways
But I say it's just a phase
It's accountancy that makes the world go 'round"
