This is just in:

Betreff: Xperiment>L - open call for women in electronic music
Von: "daswa" <daswa@xs4all.nl>
Datum: Mi, 4.02.2004, 21:03
An: daswa@xs4all.nl

We (Daniela Swarowsky & Mariette Groot) want to inform you about a new
music-series called Xperiment>L, focussing on women in the electronic
music field to take place in spring/ fall of 2004 in Rotterdam/Holland.

Each of the 5 planned evenings will feature sound artists as well as
film/video works. Workshops and lectures will encompass the events and a
symposium, where the position of women in the electronic music field will
be discussed and compared to their position in other (art) fields, is in
planning.

As our budget will be low, we are looking for possible collaborations
with other presenters in order to be able to invite women we are
interested in.

Dates so far are: Wed, 14.04.04
Wed, 12.05.04
Wed. 16.06.04
Wed. 15.09.04
Wed, 13.10.04

Please read further and see, which of the following questions are
interesting to you?

* If you plan to book a woman who falls under the categories
described below, please think of contacting us, as we might be
interested in a co-operation. Even if you plan to book somebody at
other dates than mentioned above, get in touch, as our planning will
also depend on who will be available when ...

* If u are interested in becoming a co-producer of Xperiment>L,
contact us!

* Everyone who feels that they can and want to contribute to this
project, like: organizers, booking agents, cultural activists or
theoreticians, writers, sponsors, publishers, etc., are invited to
respond. We are ready to provide more information if needed
(concept music/ film & symposium text are available).

* Please feel free to forward this email to your contacts, be it
musicians or other organizers, to spread the word.

* Styles we are interested in are: abstract or minimal electronica

old (analogue) & new (laptop)
musique concrète
soundscapes
electro-accoustic
breakcore
dub
minimal & experimental techno
electro-pop
songwriting with electronics
improvisation
turntablism

At the end find short CV's in case u don't know us:)

Looking forwards to your response ,

Daniela Swarowsky & Mariette Groot *
