Midi to Digital Performer Subject description: Set up MOTU midi express XT with Korg Karma to G4 Mac on DP |
 |
|
I have inherited the MOTU midi express XT digital interface and have been trying to get sound from my Korg Karma keyboard connected with a midi cord to the Express XT and into Digital Performer to record.Do i need another cord going out from Express XT to the computer?
I got Digital Performer to recognize the Express XT it says "MIDI Express XT All Cables - 1" on the track but when I record there is nothing recorded. What am I missing? Does anyone have a clue? I am confused which cable to choose: the number 1 or 2 or so forth. I assume 1 and then add up as I go to more tracks?
I'm also confused about the default as there are generic numbers to choose.
I have the Express XT programed to Live Keyboards.
And finally is local control supposed to be on or off, I forgot.
I appreciate anyone's time in reading all of this.
Thank you,
J. |

Did you use the Audio-Midi app?
It´s in /Applications/Utilities
Basically this is the place to set up all midi devices and interfaces.
Some DAWs can kinda ignore and use its own port access stuff, but I am pretty sure Digital Performer is using the system settings ( as set up by the Audio Midi utility. ) _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"
