I see a resistor for a circuit labeled 4K7. What is that? A 4.7K, 470K, 47K..

In that particular naming convention, the K is put where the decimal place would be. So it is 4.7K

I am just as green as you with this stuff, but I seem to remember reading recently that it would translate to a 4.7K. 4k=4000 with the 7=700......

Lots of folks in the UK and Australia seem to denote values this way.

OR maybe I am a total idiot!!!
