Excellent!! Love the attention to detail, thought it was a photo of your sl initially
Can anyone recommend some freeware that can be used to play with this? |

Nice, I'm downloading it now. I bet it beats my idea for a WSG VSTi. |

no, no, go ahead. in the next revision the SL will have a midi off switch to be a noisy noise machine only ... actually noise is nothing but all tones at the same time and that's great. we need more noise! anyway i don't take this VSTi thing for serious - it's fun. _________________

You better believe I will. Of course it might actually be musicaly useful what with automation and all. The filter might be a little 'tough' to work out though. I'm having a little trouble pinning down quite how it functions, I know it's a bandpass but that's about it.
Anyway another project onto my pile of lofi, noise makers to make in SynthEdit, right next to the SK-1 type sampler and the multiband bitcrusher/EQ. |

YEAH! A Casio SK-1 VSTi! No one has made one yet? How would you create that sampler? Could you record samples straight from the computer soundcard, and then add the BEEP! when it's done? _________________ One Player Game | OPG on SoundCloud |

Well right now it is pretty much just a sampler module that goes through a bitcruser which is set to the sample-rate/bit depth of the SK-1 and monostable gate that can limit the sample length to the 1.7 sec. (I think that's right?). It also has a 16 partial additive oscillator. SynthEdit doesn't handle on the fly sampling real well right now so we'll see about that. It sounds pretty nasty right now. |

Yeah, I noticed the lack of realtime sampling, but it all sounds pretty cool. And if there isn't a Casio SK-1 VSTi already, it should be very easy to make. I am lucky enough to still have the SK-1 I got when I was 8 years old, and a VSTi version would be very easy. But everyone loves that sampler!
And then next would be a circuit-bent Casio SK-1 VSTi, right? _________________ One Player Game | OPG on SoundCloud |
