Hello All,

New to the forum, just received my SLMS PCB and am gearing up to take the challenge.

In regards to POTs I would like to pick some up from Futurlec as stated in an earlier post about pots but I'm unsure which type would be best.

I read that the log pots are superior, but I notice on the Futurlec site that they are just as much as the linears.

Can anyone tell me in there experience which might be better to use. Or at least relay your experiences with the two types.

Any help would be great and thanks

there's no difference in quality or price just the response. in general we can say that you use linear for control voltages and log for audio. often log pots are called "audio" pots.
in some cases one might find that log pots give a better response for control voltages. i do.
i only buy linear pots. if i find that a log pot would be more appropriate i mod it with a additional resistor - pot modding is another story. there's a great article at laurie biddulphs elby designs site and you'll find other great articles in the web...
