One of the greatest joys in my life is gazing at these incomprehensibly large structures, trying my hardest to grasp the scales involved, squinting at super high-res images of gas clouds in particular, especially ones where you can make out shadows being cast across the body of the nebula, individual shadows that dwarf our own solar system in size.

Incidentally, I have in my posession some very very very high res images of these objects, some hundreds of megs in size, if anyone is interested. Astonishing breathtaking stuff.

Hundreds of megs? That would be fun. You could explore it like you were really travelling in space. Where did you get such images? How could you share them. Aren't they on NASA sites?
