Subject description: i can't play the Slot C and D
Reply with quote  Mark this post and the followings unread

hello!

i'm a new user, i just registered my self now because i bought a second hand Nord rack 2.

i noticed some problem (or maybe i'm not good to use it!):

i'm controlling the nordrack with a "cme midi keyboard" and even trough Cubase sx 3.
If i choose the midi channels nr 3 or nr 4 i'm not able to play anything.

if I load for example a sound in the A slot (which has the midi channel 1) i can play it. if i try to use the C slot (ch 3) i can't hear anything.

so i tought it was a problem of my midi controller.

the same if a make a midi track on cubase with channel 3 or 4. it doesn't play any sound.

even if i assign the midi channel 1 or 2 to Slots C and D i can't play sounds.

i have the os 1.06.

can you help me? it's me doing wrong something? because i had, 2 years ago, a nordlead 1 and, it worked normally.

there is a way to restore the original status of this synth?

i'm disappointed Sad

thank you.

i

welcome manovale sonoro

The output of Slot C and D isn't set right.
[Shift+2xB] is output CD. Display should read [-.cd] If not, set with up/down until the value. It should do the trick.

i guess it's a midi problem because if i set channel 3 or 4 doesn't play. Sad i tried to set [-cd]
but nothing Sad

i forgot to say that i'm working on "manual mode", with single presets.

i'd like to set for example_

pads on Slot A
bass on B
arpeggiator on C
lead on D

if i want to play slot B i have to change on my controller the midi channel. and it works only for channel 1 and 2, seems that channels 3 and 4 for calling slots C & D are disabled

Manual Mode is [Shift+Perf], which makes the Patch sound like how the knobs are set on the Panel; I think you just mean Program Mode, not Performance...

To enable all 4 Slots (or less, if you want) just press all buttons A+B+C+D simultaneously. All Slot Led's have to light up.

yes i meant that but, let me explain better:

i want to lay for 5 seconds, for example a pad and after, pressing the slot C a lead.....

now...

my nordrack plays only what i set on midi channel 1.... btw, i do a short videoclip so i can explain better Very Happy
as can you watch on the video, if i change slot, it always plays the program of Slot which has midi channel 1 Sad

if i try to play something trough midi channel 3 doesn't go! Sad

the video clip is here http://www.manovalesonoro.com/temp/nordrack.3gp

If you set Slot C to Midi channel 3 it has to react to Midi data on that channel. Does it work using CuBase?

The NordLead2 has four outputs, where the NordLead1 only has two. You have to set Slot C en D in the -cd setting. Setting 1cd sends the audio to output C and D!

BTW I can't run the video...

welcome

The movie helps.

You need to enable more than one slot at at time. Try pressing the slot buttons at the same time. Then the lights for several slots will light up.

i can't do this because i'm using it behind midi controller. to user more sounds at once, i have to choose the same midi channel.
