Hey forum buddies,

This synth recently sold on ebay over here. I've got the complete construction plans here. Does anyone want to build it? If so, I can ask for permission to publish them here?

Tom

mm pretty, how did you get hold of the construction plans?

I would be interested in looking , there are so many of theese things though I want to do them all!! gonna end up with 100 similar mini mono synthesizers

I guess it would be allot of work to find substitute parts?

I've had them for years. Actually, they were originally printed in Practical Electronics magazine between June and August 1982. As far as I can work out, the only difficult to find IC's are the LM13600 and the CA3080 chips. Of course you can find the 3080's if you look around, and the LM13700 can be swapped for the LM13600

Cool! Very Happy
Yeah I'd love to see the schems, but I doubt I'll build one. I've already got projects lined up for the afterlife! Laughing Will solder solidify in hell?

According to Dante, if you make it to the ninth circle, you should have no problem.

If you want to plan ahead, I suppose you could take this test to see if you meet the proper requirement to gain access:

http://www.4degreez.com/misc/dante-inferno-test.mv

Note: Other circles may provide an appropriate environment for breadboarding.

After seeing some of the things you've done on a breadboard Scott, I think breadboarding could provide an appropriate environment for hell! Laughing

I've also dug out the schematics of the Elektor Chorosynth. A single board stylophone-like string synthesizer Shocked

I'm sure Elektor would allow us to upload those too. I'll write to them.

I see that this synth was designed by Alan Bradford, with whom had a number of interesting telephone conversations in the late 80s. He designed a series of rack effects put out by an English company called 3G, including a dual compressor, dual gate/panner, thru zero flanger and an enhancer which had the clever bits potted!

I read this article today on our return flight from Alicante to Gatwick, with a Richard Shindell concert in my ears. It is a fascinating read, and parts of the circuit may help with an idea I have been mulling over in my mind for several months in connection with a guitar triggered sweep generator.
