Ah, my friend, glad to see you have come over here, too.
It's really great to have a place where you can post schematics, photos, etc. without having to go through a website posting. Way better that that other place we hang out, IMO.

Well, Ian, even before Scott invited me, I saw that you had started to post here, so I knew it must be a serious place.

Hey JH and Friends,
That's one nifty sounding machine! Please count me in for at least one PCB. Thanks!
BTW, assuming one has the parts, can CA3046 be used instead of CA3086?

I think so; the 3046 is the better spec'ed device anyway.

I forgot- count me in for a board (or two as well- as I know someone else who would also love one of these). _________________ ACHTUNG!

I'll be away from computers till the end of the week.
I just managed to confirm my prototype pcb order at Olimex today. If my fax came thru (I had to set up a FAX function on my PC in order to send this tonight, before I'm leaving tomorrow morning), I'll expect to have it in my hands in about 2 weeks; then I can start building.

If you are having a holiday, have a good one. We are in Geneva on the 7th June for 3 days - courtesy of Easyjet - perish the thought! |

Also, since we are kind of on the subject, are or were any Stormtide boards available?
thanks! |

Practically all of my older projects were done on veroboard, so right now there are no pcbs avaiable. But if this project (tau) works out to everybody's satisfactions, I plan to offer pcbs to more projects.
I doubt I'll put the Storm Tide to pcb 1:1 (that would be boring; and as it is now, the Storm Tide is too close to Eventide, who already came visiting with questions ...). But some interesting BBD-based project is quite possible, in the future.

Update:
Just came back from Vienna. Found an email from the pcb vendor that my improvised FAX cam thru on monday. So my proto board is definitely in the queue right now.

Were they positive questions or "leave our bounce alone" questions? |

"I saw the Storm Tide flanger. Very interesting. Is this something that you sell? Drop me a note when you can."
From an official Eventide adress.
I replied - truly - that I had no intention to sell this, and tried to start some tech small talk, but never heard back, positive or negative.
Is the Bounce something they have patented or otherwise (?) protected in particular?

I'm very interested in it for physical modelling aproach experiments (very short delays, etc)
I know you experimented with the StormTide for that but I guess a more specialized unit (a la Serge Wilson Delay) would be more desirable... |
