evolution mk 449c problems Subject description: problems with this midi controller |
 |
|
can anyone help me out, i have the evolution mk 449c midi controller, and i use fruity loops for my sequencer.
when i bought this it came with a cd for installation, but implied that windows XP has a plug and play feature, so i dont need to install any drivers, but on FL it doesnt have any midi input. so i went to evolution.co.uk and i installed their latest driver, to see if it would help. but its still not showing up for midi input. i tried all of the drivers they have on that website and i still am not having any luck with the midi input.
i really have no clue what to do, so i decided to come here and see if anyone knows.
also, usually when i plug somthing up via USB a little bubble will pop up in the bottem right corner saying new hardware detected, (it does for my ipod, and anything else i plug into it) but for my midi controller nothing comes up, it might be a problem with windows not detecting it, but i dont know how to fix it.
i really need help, let me know if you know the problem.
thank you! |

Ah, that appears to be one-step higher than my Evolution MK model. Fancy!
I'm not sure if this controller needs its own power supply because of its fanciness, but you are getting power to it when the USB cable is connected, right?
Now, on my PC, I don't recall seeing a message that the device is plugged in (I can't remember if I ever got the "new hardware detected" message when I first detected it), but I do rememeber using the CD because it had some free software with it. You should use the CD. When working properly, FL will then list it as "external USB device" or something of that nature.
Let me know what it does. It's been a long time since I bought mine. _________________ One Player Game | OPG on SoundCloud |

yeah, well i have windows XP and i put the cd in and it says that its a "plug and play" feature for windows XP so no drivers are needed. yet, i still get no midi input showing up on FL
i thought maybe itd be a problem with the cord so i got a different one, and it still doesnt work. so i dont know.
also ive tried going to "add new hardware" under control panel, and i installed the evolution mk 449c driver, and it says "device is working properly" but obviously it isnt working properly if FL doesnt recognize that i have midi input. so i really dont know what to do.
ive even tried the program "midi-fix" and that isnt working for me either. |

So, it's just that Windows recognizes it but FL does not?
What about your sound card options? What are those set to? _________________ One Player Game | OPG on SoundCloud |

nothing recognizes it, FL doesnt neither does windows xp
but i tried it on win2000 on my other computer and it works, because the driverss from the cd are needed to run on win2000.
im not sure what my sound card is, i just got this laptop. its an acer aspire 3680 so it should be a fairly new soundcard |

Hold on - you say WinXP doesn't recognize it but earlier you said you were getting "device is working properly?"
What exactly is listed in your hardware profile? That is to say- what is the USB MIDI controller labeled as? _________________ One Player Game | OPG on SoundCloud |
