Is a parts kit for the board set something you would be interested in?
Yes, I would consider using a parts kit, even if it might cost slightly extra.

No, I've either got the parts onhand and/or prefer ordering my own.

Thanks, Bill! Yeah, that Virtualizer really surprised me - it makes a nice addition to the MX-200; it's got a lot of functions in it the MX doesn't have, and it's quite a bit more tweakable in many ways.

That middle two space slot in that rack is going to be a MIDI function panel - the MPS-100, ADV MIDI and a MIDI patch bay (plus some other goodies) will eventually go there.

Cheerio,
Scott

I thought I saw/heard something new in the rack. BTW, I like the music workstation set-up you've got going there. Looks like you could use some decent speakers though. Wink

I've been busy home-cooking some custom triple vactrols for my new six-stage vibe effect, so we have some catching up to do I guess. . . .

Do they make the 2ma LED's in blue?

Hey Dan, I have never seen specific low current (like 2 MA) blue LED's ...... Sad Just yellow, Green and Red ...... I am not sure even the white LED's come in lower current versions ??? Most Blue LED's I see use a test current of 20 MA. They may, however work with just 2 MA but you would have to experiment. It seems that the guys have used the 20 MA red LED's at 2 MA and they seem to work OK ... Very Happy

Thanks Bill,

I figure I'll play around with stuff like that and see what I can come up with. I have a bunch of blue LED's I cannibalized from Christmas light strings I picked up on clearance after the season. I might give them a try to see if I can get away with using them.

Your welcome Dan. Good idea to just pull those LED's from the light string Cool Just hand pick the ones that give you good, and uniform, brightness using only 2 MA of current ........ Should be interesting to know the result .......

So, has anyone had problems using 'regular' LEDs (ie 20-30mA)? I've got some blues & whites that I would like to use, however I will use the high efficiency reds/greens/yellows if I have to.... Sad

The main thing to keep in mind is that you can't put 20-30mA through them. (I think blues/whites will need even more)
The 6K8 current limiting resistors are pretty much a fixed feature, because if you come any lower you could get a situation where all the LEDs are lit at the same time, and with anything more than about 5mA each you will smoke your 4034s.
I found standard LEDs to be okay, as with only 5mA or so, they still look fine.
You don't want really bright LEDs anyway, as with 12 or so on at a time it would get really distracting and hard on your eyes.

I used the LOW Current High Efficiency LED's from Mouser. I have attached the catalog page.

I used these T1 3/4 size low current LED's with the Cliplite holders.

The holders work the best when mounted into a 3 mm panel thickness. Consult the Cliplite data sheet for mounting dimensions.
