How do I sync up a beat to an already established song. I have a composition that I want to add a drum kit to. Is it easier to do this in one program than another. Like probably Garage Band rather than Digital Performer or Logic?

Thanks ahead of time for any thought on this.

Peace,
Jazz-elle

Check out digital performer's conductor track! You can add tempo changes, set the grid to the right divisiion, this way it should be easy to 'sync' a beat.

(assuming you know all the tempo information of your composition, you are programming the beat and/or using loops and phrases)

ableton's live makes this very easy to do. it will (most times) figure out the song's beat for you and allow you to add whatever loops and effects you want and automatically sync together. it also makes it easy to change the tempo of the song if you want. it's also great for djing using mp3 or wav files (of course, it's also a high quality production tool).
