I am in the process of designing a cabinet for eurorack modules. I don´t want to make it excessively deep, so how deep should it be in order to house the deepest of the commercialy available modules?
(And because I am curious: Which ones are the deepest?)

Thanks!

Doepfer provide a spreadsheet that lists the specifications for all current modules which includes their depth. You can download it here -> http://www.doepfer.de/pub/a100_sys.xls.
The deepest ones are the A-126 (105mm), A-112 (100mm) and the A-190 (95mm)

Cheers,
Adam-V

Thanks Adam.
I think I will go for a depth of 120mm. And should there be some freaked out module that is deeper, there is a section of the case that is deeper.

Another thing you have to think about is the distance to the power rails for hooking up the modules. Doepfer cases are deeper than A-Sys cases but the power rails in the Doepfer are closer to the front compared to the A-Sys power sockets.

A-Sys modules have lots of extra power cable so you can hook up a module to say the left most power socket and still mount it on the far right with no problems. Cwejman and PLan B power cables are REALLY Short - to such a degree that they can only be mounted to the left and directly in line with a power socket on A-Sys gear - Just a warning to make sure that you can actually get the modules hooked up ok !
