I used a BZX85C10 which is a 1.3W 10V zener - this works. The 1N4740 indicated in the BOM is 1W, and the 1N5240 also indicated in the BOM is 0.5W - the one you indicate is 0.5W, so according to the BOM, it should work!

At least I think so!

Subject description: Build problems
Reply with quote  Mark this post and the followings unread

So I've finally come around to finish my 281 boards. I have 4 populate, but i decided to wire up a pair first to test the modules. I have the peak circuitry built on board B, and the CA3080's are substituted w/ the NTE996.

The A module appears to work completely fine as every function works as I imagined it would. But B doesn't have any output. I've checked the wiring, and everything seems to be alright. Only my b amount pot may have the wrong wires soldered to the left and right legs. My 10V regulator appears to work fine as I get 10V across the wire from board A. When I turn on the quad mode switch, I can hear the trig inputs on B when I have only plugged in a trig source and the output plugged into the mixer out, with it noticeably louder when I switch B into sustain mode.

Also, although A appears to work fine, the NTE996 on board A gets very hot.

If anyone can give me any tips on how to trouble shoot this it would be very much appreciated.

ok-
i will take orders for yet another run of these boards as i have so many requests for them. this will definitely be the last one though, the 3080 is 2$ a piece now. I am in the process of drawing a dual and a quad board which share 4016s and use 13700s, which is what I should have done to begin with, but these won't be done for a while and in the mean time, i am going to publish the art for this board as well on my site which is gonna be updated probably tonite.

so- PM me with your desired qty's and i will put the order through soon after I will accept pre-payment as these are a known quantity and so am I by now.. Cool
I will PM you back to confirm and with total and paypal address.

thanks!

I will finally be getting around to finishing up a pair of these sometime in the next couple of months.

I have a couple of quick questions before I finish designing my panels. First, does having a "both" cv input and attenuator require any extra circuitry? Second, I noticed a few people have separated the trigger and gate inputs. How is this done?

Sorry if these questions have already been answered, but I didn't see them skimming through this thread.

Thanks,
Paul

Ok, so I've read through the entire thread now and here's what I've found:

"Both" input and attenuverter do require extra circuitry, which was described as a basic attenuverter. I will probably skip this since I will have two of fonitrOnics' attenuverting mixers in the same cabinet.

Having separate gate and trigger ins also requires extra circuitry. Topp, you mentioned that you would post how to do this if anyone is interested. I am, if you are still willing to post the info.

Thanks,
Paul

I'm in for a pair of these (shipped to the UK). I still have a couple of the original boards, so I reckon the updated ones would compliment them nicely.

Greetings! I ordered the TWF and really wanted four of these pcbs as well but money was tight at the time. If the dual and quad pcb project is definitely a go I can wait however long it takes. Thanks for everything!
