Hi everyone

Would appreciate if you could spend 5mins of your time to give me feedback on a Bitstream Dream remix I've done for a comp.

www.obliqueism.com/remix

Ive tried to keep this in a kind of kruder/dorfmeister "type" remix (you know the sort of tune that would fit nicely on an advertisement) with a nice aura, punchy bassline and some tweaking with samples over the top.

I aimed to make the listener feel like they want more - works for me but I'll soon see if it does for any1 else.

Cheers
&ND

NB: Apologies if this is not good newbie etiquate!

THis sounds solid.. good! Is this a remix of your own track?
I think this one stays interesting until the end. Commercials are often way shorter.. but I think several sections are just poerfect for various commercials. Very Happy

Pleasant enough, but not very interesting. Maybe this is what you want.

Well.. I think it is interesting.. but not interesting the way Mozart is or Pergolesi. However, I think this one suits the purpose.. but it is too long for commercials. I reckon you could make 15 different tunes for commercials out of this track.

nice production. easy to get lost in that sound. The wah guitar sounds a little overtly cheesy/detective movie to me, but the other sounds are spot on...
really like the very small bubbly sounds

nice minimalist feel with the vocals. god the production is good! really well done.

cool with the trumpet. you really stretch your samples to thier limit. i think the development is great!

good aesthetics!

Thanks - no it's a remix for a coompetition of a track by Bitstream Dream - it is completely different though!! I have listened to your music Elektro and I think it is excellent so this means a lot

Is it all virtual synths and loops Question I like the Indian inflection of the singer. (check my song "Indialuna" at http://go.berkleemusic.com/seraph
I hope you do not mind I plug my song on your thread Very Happy )

You know, competitions are not great for the arts, IMHO. Do what you want for the joy of doing it. Don't be attached to other people liking it. A lot of music I didn't like at first I like now. Even this piece, I liked much more the second time through.

comp - is that competition or compilation?

I don't think music or art should be competitive.
It's all about self expression, and competition detracts from that.

Hey mate

Whereabouts in the UK are you from then?

Had a good listen to your tune. It's got good atmosphere and that and the production sounds tight to me so nice one. However, overall I find the track pretty boring. Not a whole lot is happening. It sounds to me like some beat is going to come in at some point and it just doesn't happen - which leads me to get a little bit frustrated. It does make me feel like I want more but not in a good way.

Sorry for the crits but no sense in offering them if you're not going to be honest.

Cheers

Dovder
