i am trying to recreate the feedback osc from a jp8000 or vsynth and dont understand how it works well enough to try to build one (i didn't have a whole lot of problems recreating a supersaw-ish patch, but i like the feedback osc better). roland describes it in the manual as:

Quote:

this sound is similar to electric guitar feedback, and is especially suitable for solo sounds. when feedback oscillator is selected only one note will sound at a time (MONO)

(the two controls available for this oscillator type are)

FEEDBACK AMOUNT: adjust the amount of feedback to adjust the level of the harmonics

HARMONICS: Vary the sound of the harmonics.

any clues/ideas?

I'd be interested in knowing more about it myself. The SH-201 has it as well. On the 201 it's polyphonic, but only has a control for the amount of feedback (no harmonic control).

Cheerios,
Scott
