using G2 in a daw project |
 |
|
hi,
i am using Ableton Live (it sends midi notes to G2), make some changes in a patch from user library, dont want to delete original presets of the patch, save it in a different file, then reopen it if i want to load that track. In that way i have to save as a new patch file for every track.
im wondering the easiest way to save and recall a patch in G2 when working on a daw like ableton. what is your way to do that? i guess midisysex dump function is not well supported by Ableton.
thanks!!
Regards,
Okan |

sorry. i couldnt tell my issues well.
i better ask my easy questions seperately.
1) which is the easiest way to load a patch into G2 when opening a project in Ableton Live or other daw's which uses that G2 patch or patches?
2) for example i loaded 3 patches into 3 slots in G2(it is in patch mode). is it possible to save these 3patches as one performance file? or should i first change it to performance mode and then load those 3 patches?
3) i did a new variation for a patch. and i dont want to delete old 8 variations. should i save a new patch file to save that custom variation?
4) i want to make default 4 midi-in channels as 6-7-8-9 channel. but everytime i open G2 it is default 1-2-3-4 ch. is there any way to save that 6-7-8-9 ch config? |

1) sysex patch dumps when you want to store the patches on the computer, alternatively when you store them on the synth you could send bank / patch select message to load it.
2) it would be easiest to work in performance mode I think and when using the 1st alternative from 1) you would have to. When using the 2nd alternative in 1) it should be possible to work in patch mode.
3) save it as new!
4) Probably memory protect is on, it should remember your settings. _________________ Jan

Hi Okan,
1) To load performance or patch, you should use S-PC-Init. A vst plug sending program change when you load a project in you daw...I'm using it, and it's ok.You can even do some automation, to load diferent performance or patch in one song.
