Hi all,

a guy called Philipp has started a new blog, Making of a drum synth, detailing his construction of a tr-808-style drum computer. Analog sounds, digital control!

Only a few posts so far and no confirmed schematics (a couple of unconfirmed ones) but seems to be coming along quite quickly, definitely one to watch....

Thanks for that Luka, looks great! Do you have a guetsimate for how much the project will cost in total?

id say somewhere around 5-600 for a pimped out mb808

however doug is yet to cost out the full kit
keep an eye on the forum

but that is so worth it for what you get
mbSEQ + original 808 drum voices, match made in heaven

im going to implement the same SEQ design for my SDS3s and THMPS drums

Luka -- I'm planning something similar in a modular format. I want a rackmount MB808 sequencer + trigger distributor + mixer in a case with a bunch of drum module clones. At first I wanted to avoid patching triggers/audio outs, but I think if everything is in a single enclosure then it's going to work well and allow a lot of flexibility as far as FX modules and drum-voice stacking goes (esp. with banana cables... just patch the same trigger out to my 808 kick and an SDS3 voice, for example.)
