More reverb control/Polyphonic Seq/ Display notes on Oszill |
 |
|
First of all, thanks, Howard for setting the wish list up!
I hope that clavia is going to monitor this list....
I would like to see polyphonic sequenzer to save DSP and make it more easy to program chord sequences. This should not be to hard to implement?
I really hope that clavia will give back the note display on the semi tone button of the oszillators, this is very much missed from the classic nord.
Tuning a patch is now thinking around an extra corner, please go back to the old idea!
I would like to see a more expensive reverb, more sound control and modulation would be appreciated
For the first entry enough, i think this wish list is going to be long
Best,

Salud!
I'd ask for more variations per patch, and variation names. |

this will be hard to implement as the hardware of the G2 may not give an easy solution for this... |

May take on this forum would be that there would be one post for each wish. Then the discussion would be just on that single feature. So, Kraken, start another topic for the named variations.
Also, let's make the subjects more descriptive. Reverb is pretty general.
I don't mean to be critical or discouraging, but just want to make suggestions for this forum to get off to a good start. So, I'm going to edit this first post as way of a suggestion. I hope the General will be OK with this...

mm, yes because now its a package deal, I want to vote 'yes please please' for the note names and 'don't care a bit' for the other items. So I won't vote now :-)

Yes, I figure we need separate topics for note names, whatever that is. |

Yes, I want a better reverb too.
A kind of "Master Reverb" module, with a quality and flexibility in the league of the professional reverbs.
If necessary, it can use a whole DSP for itself alone. That would be OK with me. |

hehe...
no, seriously. the reverb module is just not up to par to the rest in terms of professional sound.
When using G2 patches in a pro recording environment, I'd have to mute the reverb module and use an external reverb, which is not very practical.

Oh, aren't you concerned with the Lexicon's digital sound? |

It's sure alot less "digital" sounding than the g2 reverb.
There are many things that digital technology can do better (or do at all), such as reverbs, delays, sampling etc. With other things, it has to take a back seat, IMO. Eg., I've never heard an FM, AM or osc-sync sound by a digital synth that isn't blown out of the window by its analogue counterpart. It's the bandwidth. A musician-friend of mine is a plugin coder, and during a lengthy trip to a gig, he elaborated on some mathematical foundations for digital algorithms (I understood about half of it at best), and how many compromises and approximations have to be made. I was rather shocked. I always thought digital was more precise. Not so. Everything has to be bent and twisted to circumvent good ole' Nyquist. This friends dad is a retired military avionics developer, who also says that the advent of digital measuring systems has made development cheaper, but more imprecise.
Sorry for this burst of OT, but you sparked me off |

I would prefer a cheaper sounding reverb... something like an spx 90 vocal plate shatter reverb . I hate this pseudo expensiv rooms.
A spring simulation would be nice...
You should check out this super "spring reverb" here
