Hey everyone.I just downloaded the registered version of A6 banker.I cannot get it to install for the life of me.

When I unzip the files and try to open the .exe file,I get that standard windows xp error message.

I tried making a program folder for it.No dice.

I tried downloading the trial version then unzipping the reg. version into the trial version program folder. No dice. The trial version installs but even it wont run the .exe

Mark sent me copy of the .exe file that wasnt compressed. This gave me the same error message when I opened the .exe file.

I have tried this on 2 computers. Both running windows XP.One has sp2 and one has sp3.

Mark has been trying to hep via email but we have gotten no where.

I figured I would post my problem on here just to see if anyone experienced this same problem and if so,how did you resolve it?

Thanks

Well,it seems you must have a midi interface plugged in to run the banker.exe program.

I bought an m-audio fast track ultra and am unhappy. So I am and sending it back and my new Tascam US-1641 is on its way.I think I will be happier with this.

So I will post an update about my banker problem when my new interface gets here.

Cheers

Indeed, the MIDI interface must be switched prior to launching the Banker executable. I have discussed with Mark about this and he said it's just a side-effect of how he coded the application.

if you *really* want to run it without a midi interface, then it should work with MidiYoke installed...as long as the app sees some midi ports

Thanks for the midiyolk info.

Since an interface like the tascam 1641 has midi in/out ports, does this mean I dont need a midi interface.Or do audio interfaces with midi in/out work as a midi interface as well?

in theory the Tascam will be fine as a midi interface - some interfaces can not cope that well with the sysex transfer... you'll just have to try it and see

Ok great.Thanks for the help.

I think the fast tarck ultra sucks when it comes to midi.

I cannot get a6 banker to run with it either.

Maybe I will have better luck with the Tascam

If you have problems with the transmission try increasing the SYX-DLY parameter because the Andromeda chokes when it's fed sysex very fast.

also, you need to install the non-registered version first, and then install the registered version over the top of it.
