POLL: how many NM Classic (NM1 or G1) users out there? Subject description: (a message to Nord Clavia) |
|

just following a suggestion in another thread that we should make an official poll to see how many people are still using the Nord Modular (G1) and Micro Modular.
the editor software for these synths hasnt been updated in many years and as the computers which host the editor software evolve these classic pieces of hardware (which still work very well!) are slowly becoming obsolete.
i hope that when Nord Clavia sees how many people are still using these synths they will reconsider their position and either update the editor software and continue to support it or release the source code so a third party could create an updated software solution.
so please let it be known! |

2X NM-1 Keyboard - expanded
That means the count so far is 3 units of NM-1 class devices?
There must be more out there? _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

I should also mention that updating the editor's OS compatibility would be kinder on the environment- because there will be less NM in landfill in 10 years time! (and probably G2's also?) _________________ ACHTUNG!

Forget about Clavia, they driopped the NM1 & the G2. we're on our own.
I guess you forgot about Nomad.

no, i know its there, but its seems to be working for not many people (probably the people who have the exact same system as the developers), and it seems to be abandoned anyway.
i imagine if nord gave up the code, nomad (or some other solution) could be working pretty quickly (there's got to be some hungry programmers out there!?) |

There are many people who have a programming background on this website, but I think you can forget about source code from Clavia. This has been discussed before, and I'm fairly sure someone contacted them about this. _________________ Free Tibet. Release the Panchen Lama from prison. Let the Dalai Lama return to his home. |

so how much do we have to raise in order to pay Clavia to do an update?
I mean its understandable they're not going to try to sell an update if its totally unsure if they get the investment back..
but if you would turn things around; how much does an update cost and will the user base be able to raise this?
also.. since the G2 is also a legacy product now, any development to the NM1 will not harm G2 sales.. |

Wouldn´t it be best to use one thread for counting.. with one guy keeping an eye on the numbers.. and use another thread for the actual discussion? _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"
